    Wearing Many (Social) Hats: How Different are Your Different Social Network Personae?

    This paper investigates when users create profiles in different social networks, whether they are redundant expressions of the same persona, or they are adapted to each platform. Using the personal webpages of 116,998 users on About.me, we identify and extract matched user profiles on several major social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. We find evidence for distinct site-specific norms, such as differences in the language used in the text of the profile self-description, and the kind of picture used as profile image. By learning a model that robustly identifies the platform given a user's profile image (0.657--0.829 AUC) or self-description (0.608--0.847 AUC), we confirm that users do adapt their behaviour to individual platforms in an identifiable and learnable manner. However, different genders and age groups adapt their behaviour differently from each other, and these differences are, in general, consistent across different platforms.     The IPIN 2019 Indoor Localisation Competition—Description and Results

    IPIN 2019 Competition, sixth in a series of IPIN competitions, was held at the CNR Research Area of Pisa (IT), integrated into the program of the IPIN 2019 Conference. It included two on-site real-time Tracks and three off-site Tracks. The four Tracks presented in this paper were set in the same environment, made of two buildings close together for a total usable area of 1000 m 2 outdoors and and 6000 m 2 indoors over three floors, with a total path length exceeding 500 m. IPIN competitions, based on the EvAAL framework, have aimed at comparing the accuracy performance of personal positioning systems in fair and realistic conditions: past editions of the competition were carried in big conference settings, university campuses and a shopping mall. Positioning accuracy is computed while the person carrying the system under test walks at normal walking speed, uses lifts and goes up and down stairs or briefly stops at given points. Results presented here are a showcase of state-of-the-art systems tested side by side in real-world settings as part of the on-site real-time competition Tracks. Results for off-site Tracks allow a detailed and reproducible comparison of the most recent positioning and tracking algorithms in the same environment as the on-site Tracks

The main objective is to find evidence of a relationship between BRBs and performance. Additionally, this research seeks to establish the similarities and differences in behaviour and performance for companies in general and those adopting the Reactor strategy.     Effectiveness of the medication safety review clinics for older adults prescribed multiple medications

    Polypharmacy is common among Taiwanese older adults. We aim to determine the effectiveness of the medication safety review clinics (MSRCs) for solving drug-related problems (DRPs) among older adults prescribed multiple medications. Methods: This prospective case-series intervention study was conducted at the outpatient department of the National Taiwan University Hospital and its BeiHu Branch. Older adults (≥65 years) who either had been prescribed ≥8 chronic medications (drugs prescribed for ≥28 days) or had visited ≥3 different physicians during the 3-month screening period were enrolled (N = 193). DRPs were identified after baseline assessments from a team of geriatricians and pharmacists. Prescribers were contacted with proposed interventions to be administered within 12 weeks. Problem-solving rates (PSRs) at both Week 12 and Week 24 visits were recorded. Stepwise multivariate logistic regression was applied to identify correlates of having at least one unsolved DRP at 24 weeks. Participants (N = 139) who completed four visits to the MSRCs were analyzed. Results: The mean age was 75.6 ± 6.1 years and 56% of them were men. The mean chronic medication per patient was 9.0 ± 3.1, and the mean DRP per patient was 2.1 ± 1.5. The PSR was 76% at Week 12 and 87% at Week 24. Thirty-two patients (22%) had at least one unsolved DRP. Correlates of the unsolved DRP included a higher geriatric depression scale, a higher chronic medication per patient, and a higher DRP per patient. The mean chronic medication per patient (9.0 vs. 8.6, p < 0.05) decreased, and the number of participants rating good or better health status improved from 22% to 38% in 24 weeks (p < 0.001). Participants were highly satisfied (96% at all times) with the service. Conclusion: DRPs were common in geriatric outpatients taking multiple medications and most were solved with appropriate interventions. The MSRC service may improve prescription quality in Taiwan if widely available

    Zebrafish as a Model Host for Candida albicans Infection▿

    In this work, the zebrafish model organism was developed to obtain a minivertebrate host system for a Candida albicans infection study. We demonstrated that C. albicans can colonize and invade zebrafish at multiple anatomical sites and kill the fish in a dose-dependent manner. Inside zebrafish, we monitored the progression of the C. albicans yeast-to-hypha transition by tracking morphogenesis, and we monitored the corresponding gene expression of the pathogen and the early host immune response. We performed a zebrafish survival assay with different C. albicans strains (SC5314, ATCC 10231, an hgc1 mutant, and a cph1/efg1 double mutant) to determine each strain's virulence, and the results were similar to findings reported in previous mouse model studies. Finally, using zebrafish embryos, we monitored C. albicans infection and visualized the interaction between pathogen and host myelomonocytic cells in vivo. Taken together, the results of this work demonstrate that zebrafish can be a useful host model to study C. albicans pathogenesis, and they highlight the advantages of using the zebrafish model in future invasive fungal research
